Kybella is a newly FDA-approved treatment for patients looking to reduce their double chin without surgery. Kybella is the first injectable of its kind to be approved as an option to rid moderate to severe fat deposits under the chin. Using an acid identical to one produced naturally by the body, Kybella dissolves fat cells in the targeted treatment area, allowing Dr. Haven to reshape the area below the chin for her patients.Kybella is best for patients that have unwanted localized fat deposits under the chin, most commonly known as a "double chin". Other treatment options are more to treating skin laxity or sagging neck skin not due to excess fat.
After the initial treatment, patients will need to return for a follow-up four to six weeks later. Patients should expect some mild bruising and swelling following treatment.
